Latest Quebec  housing market data – July 2023

In July 2023, sales of single-family homes, condominiums and plexes (2 to 5 units) in Quebec totaled 6,474, up 2% on July 2022, but down 13% on last month.

Transactions in the Montreal CMA accounted for 48% of total sales (3,098), while the Quebec City CMA accounted for 10% (650).

Latest Quebec  housing market data – May 2023

In May 2023, total sales in Quebec stood at 8,174, up 17% on last month, but down 6% on the same period in 2022.

With the exception of plexes, the median selling price is falling in Quebec. Between May 2022 and 2023, the median sale price of single-family homes and condominiums fell by 4.4% and 1.3% respectively.

Latest Quebec  housing market data – April 2023

Real estate sales are decreasing and except for plexes, the median selling price is decreasing in Quebec in April.

In April 2023, total sales in Quebec reached 7,458 units, a 22% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. The decrease was 26% in the Montreal CMA and 14% in the Quebec City CMA.

The number of real estate transactions in Quebec rose in February compared to January. The Montreal market accounted for 48% of transactions, and Quebec City for 12%.

Latest Quebec housing market data – January 2023

The real estate market starts the year by following the downward trend of 2022 in terms of the number of transactions and median prices.

In January 2023, total sales in Quebec stood at 4,076, down 33% on the same period in 2022.

Latest Quebec housing market data – December 2022

Real estate sales are decreasing and median prices are stagnating in December.

Furthermore, in 2022, total sales in Quebec fell by 20% compared to 2021. The decrease was 22 per cent in the Montréal CMA and 13 per cent in the Quebec City CMA.

Latest Quebec housing starts data – September 2022

Since January 2022, Quebec has had 37,740 housing starts. This is a lower level than the 43,583 starts recorded for the same period in 2021.

The Montreal, Gatineau and Sherbrooke CMAs recorded a decrease in their number of starts in September 2022 compared to September 2021. The Saguenay CMA, on the other hand, recorded a 110 % jump compared to September 2021.
