Real estate sales are decreasing and except for plexes, the median selling price is decreasing in Quebec in April.
In April 2023, total sales in Québec reached 7,458 units, a 22% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. The decrease was 26% in the Montréal CMA and 14% in the Québec City CMA.

Real estate sales are decreasing and median prices are stagnating in December.
Furthermore, in 2022, total sales in Québec fell by 20% compared to 2021. The decrease was 22 per cent in the Montréal CMA and 13 per cent in the Québec City CMA.

Since January 2022, Quebec has had 37,740 housing starts. This is a lower level than the 43,583 starts recorded for the same period in 2021.
The Montréal, Gatineau and Sherbrooke CMAs recorded a decrease in their number of starts in September 2022 compared to September 2021. The Saguenay CMA, on the other hand, recorded a 110 % jump compared to September 2021.
